Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar & 1/4 cup cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400.
Mix shortening, sugar until well blended.
Add eggs.
Sift flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar and add to first mixture.
Beat until smooth and creamy.
Roll into balls size of a small walnut.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon and roll balls in this mixture.
Bake 8-10 minutes 2" apart.
