Ingredients

  • 1 package Oreo cookies
  • 1 8oz cream cheese
  • 1 teas. vanilla extract
  • Melting chocolate - Approx 1 lb for dipping and 1/2 lb for drizzling (you can use different colors for drizzle)
  • I have used the Wilton Candy melts - light cocoa for dipping

Preparation

Step 1

1. Grind Oreos to small fragments - I use a food processor to create a fine powder
2. In a large bowl, mix together Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and vanilla until smooth ( you will not longer see the cream filling)
3. Place wax paper on a cookie sheet
4. Roll mixture into balls and place on cookie sheet. The mixture will make approx. 40 truffles.
5. Refrigerate for approx. 40 minutes
6. Melt chocolate in double boiler (you can use microwave as well)
7. Dip each ball into chocolate until covered remove with slotted spoon (I find the 2 forks work just as well)
8. Place on wax paper to cool
9. Melt the second chocolate (if desired) and use a fork to drizzle over each of the truffles. I have also just used sprinkles or colored sugar and they have come out very nice.

Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
