Ingredients
- 1/3 cup chopped onions
- 5 tbsp butter
- 5 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 5 cups milk
- 6 cups thinly sliced potatoes

Preparation
Step 1
1. In a large saucepan, sauté onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until blended
2. Gradually add milk, bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until sauce is thickened
3. Place half of the potatoes in a greased 3 quart baking dish. Pour half of the sauce over the potatoes. Repeat layers
4. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes or until potatoes are tender and top is lightly browned
