Macaroni and Cheese with Ham

  • 1 large onion, chopped fine
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 can flaked ham or 1/2 cup of leftover cooked ham, chopped finely
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1-1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups cooked macaroni (1-1/2 cups dry macaroni, cooked and drained)
  • 6 Tbsp dry Italian style breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 Tbsp melted butter


Servings 4


Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F
Saute the chopped onion in the olive oil
Stir in the ham and saute for a couple of minutes
Stire in the soup, milk and 1 cup grated cheese
Heat, stirring often till cheese is melted
Add cooked macaroni and stir to blend
Pour into buttered casserole dish
Top with remaining grated cheese and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Drizzle with melted butter.
Bake till bubbly and crunchy on top - about 30 minutes
