Sour Cream Brownies

Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 T. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 (8oz) carton sour cream
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 c. sifted powdered sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 3 T. unsweetened cocoa

Preparation

Step 1

In medium saucepan, combine water, 1 c. butter, and 3 T. cocoa. Cook and stir until boiling. Remove from heat. Set aside. In medium mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda. Set aside. In lg. mixing bowl, combine sour cream and eggs. Beat well. Add hot cocoa mixture, beat well. Add flour mixture to sour cream mixture, mix until smooth. Pour batter into greased 15x10pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25-30 min. Cool on wire rack.
In sm. mixer bowl, beat 1/2 c. butter for 30 seconds. Stir together powdered sugar mixture alternately with the milk to butter, beating well after each addition. Spread over cooled bars.
