Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Butter or Margarine
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 1 Lg Egg
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • 1-1/2 Cups Flour
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1-1/4 Cups Rolled Oats
  • 1 Cup Raisins

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Cream margarine and brown sugar in large bowl. Add egg. Beat well. Add vanilla. Beat until smooth. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Add to margarine mixture in 2 additions, mixing well after each addition until no dry flour remains. Add rolled oats and raisins. Mix well.

3. Drop, using 1 tbsp. (15 mL) for each, about 2 inches (5 cm) apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake in oven for 8 to 10 minutes until golden.

4. Let stand on cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool.

Makes about 3 1/2 dozen (42 cookies).
