Ingredients
- Topping:
- 2 cans (16 ounces each) sliced pears or pear halves in heavy syrup, drained
- 1 tbsp crystallized ginger, minced
- 2/3 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 400 F. Arrange the pears in a shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish; sprinkle with the crystallized ginger.
Combine the oatmeal, brown sugar, flour and ginger in a bowl or food processor. Gradually add the butter and process until mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle topping mixture evenly over the pears. Bake until topping is lightly browned and crisp, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt.
