Ingredients

  • 2 c. water
  • 1 c. quick oats
  • 3 Tbsp. Margarine
  • 1 pkg. Yeast
  • 1/3 c. warm water
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 4 3/4 – 5 1/4 c. flour

Step 1

In a saucepan, boil water. Add oats and butter. Cook & stir 1 minute. Cool to lukewarm. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add oats, sugars, salt and flour. Beat until smooth. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead 6 minutes. Cover and let rise 1 hour in a greased bowl. Punch down and let rest 10 minutes. Shape into 18 balls. Place in greased 9 inch pans. Cover and rise 45 minutes. Bake 350°
for 20 – 25 minutes. Remove from pans to cool.
