Nutty Brown Rice

Ingredients

  • 2-3 T chopped shallots
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 1/2 T butter
  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 1 3/4 cup beef broth- boiling
  • 1/3 c dry vermouth- boiling
  • 1/4 toasted slivered almonds

Preparation

Step 1

1. saute shallots and garlic in butter.

2. add brown rice and stir till caramel color. add vermouth and broth which have been heated to a boil.

3. cover and simmer 30-45 minutes.

4. stir in almonds
