Ingredients
- ganache:
- 8 oz semi sweeet chocolate
- 1 cup butter room temperature
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 5 eggs, beaten till foamy
- 12 oz semi sweet chocolate
- 1 cup heavy cream
Preparation
Step 1
1. melt chocolate and stir till smooth. remove from heat and cool 1-2 min.
2. add butter bit by bit. and beat with whisk till smooth.
3. add sugar beating 1 minute with whisk.
4. add eggs and beat till well mixed.
5. butter an 8 inch round pan and line with parchment. pour in patter and set pan in slightly larger pan.
6. pour hot water in larger pan 1 inch deep.
7. bake at 350 for 1/12 hours. cool 1 hour. (cake will fall)
8. refrigerate till set- 2 hours or more.
9. invert onto cake plate and spread with ganache.
10. to make ganache- boil chocolate and cream together stirring to blend. refrigerate till spreadable. frost top and sides of cake.
