Udon Noodles / Japanese Soup

  • [2 large servings]
  • 1 packet dried Udon noodle
  • 1/2 cup Hontsuyu
  • 2 cup water (for soup)
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • Shichimi tōgarashi

Preparation

Step 1

Boil 10 cups of water in a deep cooking pan. Add dried Udon noodle and cook for 7 minutes. Strain the water and wash the noodle with warm water. For udon soup, add hontsuyu and water in a small sauce pan and warm it up. Put udon noodle in a soup bowl, then pour over the soup. Sprinkle green onion, and serve. To add zest to the flavor, you can sprinkle Shichimi tōgarashi over udon.
