Ingredients

    ready crust graham cracker pie crust

  • 1

    egg yolk, slightly beaten

  • 5 1/2

    cups apple slices

  • 1

    tbsp lemon juice

  • 1

    cup all purpose flour

  • 3/4

    cups granulated sugar

  • 1/2

    cup firmly packed brown sugar

  • 1/2

    tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4

    tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1/4

    tsp salt

  • 1/3

    cup butter

Directions

Brush bottom and sides of pie crust with egg yolk. Bake on a baking sheet in a 375 oven, about 5 minutes until light brown. Remove crust from oven. Combine apples slices, lemon juice, 1/4 cup flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Mix well and spoon into crust. With a fork, mix remaining flour and sugars with the butter until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over apples. Bake on baking sheet for 50 minutes, until bubbling. Cool in wire rack for about 4 hours.
