Dutch Apple Pie
- 1 ready crust graham cracker pie crust
- 1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
- 5 1/2 cups apple slices
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup butter
Brush bottom and sides of pie crust with egg yolk. Bake on a baking sheet in a 375 oven, about 5 minutes until light brown. Remove crust from oven.
Combine apples slices, lemon juice, 1/4 cup flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Mix well and spoon into crust.
With a fork, mix remaining flour and sugars with the butter until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over apples.
Bake on baking sheet for 50 minutes, until bubbling.
Cool in wire rack for about 4 hours.
