BOURBON CHERRIES

Ingredients

  • Sugar 3/4 C
  • Water 1 C
  • Lemon juice, fresh 1/4 C
  • Cinnamon sticks 2 each
  • Cherries 6 Lb
  • Cognac 1 1/2 C

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine all ingredients, except cherries and cognac, in a large saucepan. Bring to boil and reduce heat to medium-low. Add cherries and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

2. Remove cinnamon sticks then stir in cognac. Cool for 2 hours then transfer to 2 Mason jars. Top off with simmering liquid and reserve, refrigerated.
