Lasagna Florentine

Ingredients

  • 9 long lasagna noodles
  • 1 pkg. Lean Ground Turkey
  • 2 T. bottled or fresh minced garlic
  • 1 jar(28 oz)spaghetti sauce
  • 1 15 oz. container ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 10 oz. pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed, well drained
  • 1/4 to 1/2 t. crushed red pepper flakes, as desired
  • 1/8 t. nutmeg
  • 2 c. (8 oz.) pkg. shredded mozzarella or Italian blend cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350.
Cook noodles according to pkg. directions.
Meanwhile, cook turkey and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat until turkey is no longer pink, stirring occasionally.
Add spaghetti sauce; simmer 10 minutes, sitrring occasionally.
Combine ricotta cheese, egg, spinach, pepper flakes and nutmeg; mix well.
Spread 1/2 c. spaghetti sauce mixture in bottom of a 13x9 inch baking dish.
Layer half of noodles over sauce; spoon cheese mixture over noodles.
Spoon 1 c. sauce over cheese; repeat layering with remaining noodles, cheese mixture and sauce.
Cover with foil; bake 50 minutes or until bubbly.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over lasagna; return to oven and continue baking 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
