Cheese Strips (Ann=s Garden Club)

6 slices bacon
2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
2 to 3 T. chopped onion
3/4 cups chopped almonds
1 cup mayonnaise
2 t. Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1 loaf thinly sliced bread

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 to 3 T. chopped onion
  • 3/4 cups chopped almonds
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 t. Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 loaf thinly sliced bread

Step 1

Fry and crumble bacon. Grate cheese into medium sized bowl. Add bacon, onion, almonds, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper; mix well. Trim bread crusts and cut each slice of bread into 4 strips. Spread mixture on each strip. Place strips on a cookie sheet. Freeze for 1 hour. Store frozen strips in a plastic bag to use when desired. When ready to serve, place frozen strips on a cookie sheet and bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 10 minutes.

Serve hot. Makes 72 strips.
