Ingredients

  • 8 oz ziti (or penne pasta)
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • chopped onions
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 c. spaghetti sauce
  • 2 c cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 c. chopped parsley
  • 1/2 Tbsp Italian seasoning (oregano)
  • 1/2- 1 cup mozzarella cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Cook ziti according to pkg directions. Set aside. Saute onions in 1 Tbsp olive oil until clear.

Add meat and Italian seasoning and brown (drain liquid).

Add spaghetti sauce to pan and cook for 2-3 minutes. Set aside.

Combine cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, parsley and garlic powder. Add ziti to cottage cheese mixture.

Spread 1/3 of meat mixture on bottom of sprayed 9x9 pan.

Spoon ziti mixture into pan and add remainng 2/3 of sauce on top.

Bake for 30 minutes covered with foil. Remove foil, add mozzarella cheese and cook 4-5 minutes uncovered until cheese is melted.
