Red velvet cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t salt
  • 2 T cocoa
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 2 1/4 c flour
  • 1 T vinegar
  • 1 t soda
  • 1/4 c red food color

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar, add rest of ingredients.
Bake in 2-9" pans @350 for 25-30 min.
