Ingredients
- 1 c. butter
- 2 c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
Step 1
Beat together butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs.Mix in cocoa, vanilla and buttermilk. Mix in flour, salt and baking soda. Stir in 1 c. boiling water. Grease and flour 2-9" cake pans. Bake in 350° oven 30-35 min. or until knife in center comes out clean. Chocolate icing would be great on this cake.
