Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dry ground mustard
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 cups Ronzoni elbows, uncooked
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz sliced American cheese, broken into 2 inch pieces

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees
2. In medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, add onion. Cook 2 minutes. Add flour, cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in milk and seasonings; cook, stirring frequently, until mixture boils and thickens
3. Meanwhile, cook pasta, according to package directions; drain. Stir cheeses into sauce
4. In 2 quart baking dish, stir together pasta and cheese sauce. Bake 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly
