  • 1 c cornmeal
  • 4 c water
  • 1-1/2 t salt

Step 1

Mix the cornmeal with 1c cold water. In a saucepan, bring 3c water and the salt to a boil. Add the cornmeal mixture to the boiling water and cook, stirring often over medium heat for 7 minutes or until thick. Place in loaf pan and refrigerate. When thoroughly chilled slice in 1/2 inch slices and fry until golden on both sides.
