Ingredients

  • 3 c baking flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 c Shiner beer
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1/3 c cooking oil

Preparation

Step 1

Pre heat oven to 350
Combine flour, baking powder, sugar,baking soda and salt.
Set aside 1 tablespoon of the beaten egg.
Combine remaining egg, Shiner beer, water and oil.
Add dry ingredients all at once. Stir just until just moistened. Batter will be slightly lumpy.
Pour into a greased 8X4X3 inch loaf pan.
Brush top with reserved egg.
Bake for about 60 mins, or until a wooden pick comes out clean.
Remove and cool on a wire rack.
