Hamburger & Chicken Stroganoff

Why do we have stroganoff on Christmas Eve and use cream of chicken soup - That I can tell you in one word: Tradition!!

Ingredients

    2 pounds lean ground beef

  • 1 1

    1 package sliced mushrooms

  • 1/4 1/4

    1/4 stick butter

  • 1 1

    1 TBs red wine or red cooking wine

  • 3 3

    3 chicken breast halves

  • 1 1

    1 package wide egg noodles

  • 2 2

    2 cups whole grain white rice

  • 1 1

    1 package Chow Mein noodles

  • 2 2

    2 pints sour lean or sour cream

  • 1/4 1/4

    1/4 tsp nutmeg for each stroganoff

  • 6 6

    6 cans Healthy Request Cream of Chicken soup - (or sneak in a can of cream of mushroom in the beef and if you think mom won't notice you would be wrong)

  • Montreal Chicken Seasoning

  • Lawry's Seasoned salt

  • Cracked pepper

Directions

Season the chicken with Montreal Chicken seasoning & cracked pepper, place in a medium sauce pot and cover with water, boil for 20 minutes or until chicken is cooked. Dain water and let cool. Dice chicken into small chunks, return to sauce pan and add three cans chicken soup and 1/2 cup milk and heat to low boil, reduce heat to simmer. While chicken is cooking, heat a large deep skillet over medium high heat and brown the hamburger, season with seasoned salt & pepper while cooking. Drain and return to skillet, add three cans of cream of chicken soup (mushroom is good too) 1/2 cup milk and stir and heat to low boil, reduce heat to simmer. In a medium covered saucepan ad 1/4 stick butter, mushrooms and 1 Tbs red wine, heat to simmer covered. Heat oven to 350 Cook the rice first according to package directions. Then cook noodles according to package directions. Pour the chow mien noodles onto a low baking pan and heat at 350 for 5 minutes. While noodles are cooking - stir one container of sour cream into each of the stroganoffs, add the nutmeg and mix well. Remove chow mien noodles from oven, set out the noodles and rice.
