French Toast Casserole

  • Praline Topping:
  • 1 loaf french breAd
  • 8 lg eggs
  • 2 C half & half
  • 1 C milk
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1/4 t cinnamon
  • 1/4 t nutmeg
  • dash salt
  • maple syrup
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1 C packed brown sugar
  • 1 C chopped pecans
  • 2 T light corn syrup
  • 1/2 t cinnamon
  • 1/2 t nutmeg

Preparation

Step 1

Slice bread into 20 slices, 1" each. Arrange slices in a generously buttered 9x 13" flat baking dish, overlapping the slices in 2 rows. In a large bowl combine the eggs, half & half, milk, sugar, vanilla cinnamon, nutmeg & salt. Beat with whisk until blended, but not too bubbly. Pour mixture over the bread slices , spooning some of the mixture in between the 2 rows of bread slices. Cover & refrigerate over night.
Praline Topping:
Combine all ingredients on med bowl & mix well. Spread praline topping evenly over the bread & bake at 350* for 40 mins until puffed & lightly golden. Serve with maple syrup.
