Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup dry green split peas
- 1 small meaty ham bone or 2 smoked pork hocks
- 1 cup coarsely chopped onion
- 1 cup coarsely chopped celery
- 1 cup coarsely chopped carrots
- 1 Tbsp. curry powder
- 1 Tbsp. marjoram or thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 cup evaporated skim milk
- 5 cups chicken broth
Preparation
Step 1
Rinse and drain peas. Put in crock pot. Add everything else except evaporated milk.
Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
Remove ham bone or hocks; remove the meat and chop. Add the meat back to the crock pot; add evaporated milk, season and serve.
