Ingredients
- 1 can Tuttoroso Italian whole tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons minced shallots
- 1 cup fresh basil leaf
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- salt and coarsely ground pepper, to taste
- 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Italian or French baguette, sliced (1 or 2 loaves)

Preparation
Step 1
Rub garlic and oil on bread, toast. I also sprinkle with paprika. Dice tomatoes. Toss with garlic and shallots. Chop basil coarsely and add to tomatoes, along with lemon juice, salt and pepper and olive oil. Put tomato mixture in serving bowl with toasts surrounding it. Don’t forget a serving spoon.
