  • Dough:
  • 1/2 lb. butter, softened
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 lb. cream cheese, softened
  • Walnut Filling:
  • 1 lb. ground walnuts
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 to 3 beaten egg whites

Preparation

Step 1

Dough:
Cream butter and cheese, then flour and mix until smooth. Chill overnight. Roll in powdered sugar and cut into 2 inch squares. Fill with your favorite filling of prunes, nuts or apricots. roll up and bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Filling:
Combine walnuts with sugar. Add egg whites, just enough to hold nuts together.
