Cranberry Cake

A holiday tradition for our family for Christmas or Thanksgiving. Recipe is for 9 x 9 pan (brackets is for 9 x 13 pan)

Ingredients
- Cake
- 3 Tbs Butter (4-1/2)
- 2 C flour (3)
- 1 C sugar (1-1/2)
- 1/2 tsp salt (3/4)
- 1 C milk (3)
- 1 tsp vanilla (1-1/2)
- 3 tsp baking powder (4-1/2)
- 2 C whole cranberries (3)
- Sauce for the cake
- 1/2 C butter (3/4)
- 1 C sugar (1-1/2)
- 1 tsp vanilla (1-1/2)
- 3/4 C whipping cream (1-1/8)
Details
Preparation
Step 1
Mix all cake ingredients together - it will be a very stiff dough. spread into greased pan and bake at 350 for 30 - 40 minutes. Let cool.
Sauce
Mix all ingredients together into a saucepan, bring to a boil over medium high heat stirring constantly, reduce heat to medium and boil while stirring for an additional 4 minutes. Reduce heat to low and serve hot over the cake.
