  • 1/2 pound unsalted butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. pure anise extract
  • 1 tsp anise seed (optional)
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups sifted flour

Step 1

Beat softened butter and sugar. Add extract and eggs (one at a time) and beat well. Add flour. Mix well. Grease a 12x17 pan, then line with parchment paper. Spread mixture into pan. Bake at 350° for about 15 minutes. Cool in pan, sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool. Can also be frozen.
