Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 fresh thyme sprigs
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 3 tsp salt divided
  • 2 tsp pepper
  • 4-5 lb brisket

Preparation

Step 1

1. Process all ingredients in blender
2. Sprinkle pepper and remaining 2 1/4 tsp salt over brisket. Put in ziplock bag and pour marinade over it. Chill 2-24 hours
3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
4. Remove brisket from marinade and discard marinade
5. Wrap in heavy duty foil and place on jelly roll pan
6. Bake for 3 hours. Remove and let stand 10 minutes
7. Cut across the grain into thin strips
