Ingredients
- 2 pounds of ground beef
- 1 large onion,diced
- 1 sweet red pepper diced
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 6 tbsp of chili powder
- 1/2 tsp of dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp of cumin
- 1/4 tsp of cayenne
- 1 can(28 oz) fire-roasted diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomatoe sauce
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- 1 tbsp of tomatoe paste
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 2 cans ( 15 oz each) dark kidney beans,drained and rinsed
- sour cream and scallions for serving
Preparation
Step 1
coat heavy bottomed pan with non-stick cooking spray,add ground beef cook over medium-high heat untill no longer pink. add onions,peppers,and garlic and cook4 min.stir in chili powder,oregano,cumin and cayenne cook 1 min. stir in diced tomatoes,tomatoe sauce,sugar,tomatoe paste and salt. cover and cookover med heat for ten min. personally I would let this cook for hours on low and slow the longer the better
