Popcorn Balls

  • 2 bags microwave popcorn - popped
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1/2 c light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla



Step 1

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil stirring occasionally until temperature reaches soft crack stage (285 degrees). Remove from heat and stir in butter, soda and vanilla. You can add food coloring at this point if you want.

Pour over 2 microwave bags of popped corn and stir until evenly coated. Form balls with buttered hands.
