- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 3 bananas (over-ripened)
- 1 1/2 tbl lemon juice
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup pecan pieces
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Take out stick of butter and bring to room temperature.
Combine bananas and lemon juice.
Sift together whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
Cream together with stand or hand mixer butter, sugar, and brown sugar.
Mix in one whole egg at a time, mixing well.
Mix in sifted flour mixture to the creamed butter and sugar in 3 installments, alternating with 2 installments of the buttermilk.
Stir in pecans, vanilla, and chocolate chips.
Pour into 12 in Bundt pan, or 2 loaf pans. Bang pan on counter to release excess air bubbles.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Allow to cool in pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto cooling rack and cool another 15 minutes before serving.
