Country Fried Butternut Squash

  • 6 lbs butternut squash, peeled, seeded and sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 pinch garlic salt
  • 1 cup oil for frying



Step 1

1. Combine egg and milk in small bowl
2. In second bowl combine flour, cornmeal, salt, pepper and garlic salt
3. Dip squash in egg mixture and dredge in dry mixture
4. Heat 1/2 inch oil in deep skillet. Fry until golden brown
