Toad in the Hole

Ingredients

  • For each serving, use round cookie cutter to cut center out of slice of bread. Put butter or margarine into heavy skillet; melt. (1 T. for each slice).

Preparation

Step 1

Lay bread in melted butter; break egg into hole left from cutter. Season well with salt and pepper. Fry over low heat until bread is brown and egg is set; carefully turn once to fry egg on top.
