Quiche Lorraine (Christmas Breakfast)

Christmas morning quiche lorraine tradition

Ingredients

  • One pie shell for 1 crust pie. Home made or prepared.
  • 1 Tbl butter
  • 12 bacon slices or some cooked crumbled bacon
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg (we don’t use this)
  • 1/4 pound shredded Swiss cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare pie dough and line a 9 inch pie plate or quiche dish
Spread softened butter over crust bottom
Cook bacon until crisp, drain and crumble over pie crust
In bowl, with a whisk beat eggs, cream and salt.
Stir in cheese.
Pour mix into pie shell.
Bake 15 mins at 450
Turn temp down to 325 degrees bake another 35 mins.

Watch for browning and test earlier than 35 mins.
Quiche is done when knife in center comes out clean.
