PEANUT SQUARES

Ingredients

  • FIRST LAYER
  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • SECOND LAYER
  • 1/2 cup butter/margarine
  • 2 tbsp vanilla pudding mix (not instant)
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 3 cups icing sugar
  • 1/2 tsp maple flavoring
  • THIRD LAYER
  • Reserved peanut butter mixture
  • 1 cup peanuts

Preparation

Step 1

FIRST LAYER: Combine peanut butter and all chips in saucepan. Heat over low heat stirring often until smooth. Spread 1/2 mixture over ungreased 9x13 pan. Keep second 1/2 mixture for third layer.

SECOND LAYER: Measure butter, pudding mix and milk in saucepan. Heat and stir until it reaches a full rolling boil. Remove from heat. Add icing sugar and flavoring. Stir well. Spread over first layer.

THIRD LAYER: To reserved mixture add peanuts. Stir and spread over second layer. Chill.
