Spaghetti with Red Clam Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 15 can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tbsp capers
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp white sugar
  • 2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3 6.5 oz chopped clams with juice
  • 1 lb cooked and drained spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup red wine

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a large pot combine the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, capers, minced garlic, sugar, parsley, garlic powder, salt, oregano, basil, black pepper, red pepper, red wine and juice of 2 cans of clams. Cover and bring to a boil
2. Lower heat to a simmer and cook for 45-60 minutes. Add the clams during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
3. Pour sauce over hot spaghetti
