Cherry Cobbler
By Sage B.
This is an interesting take on cherry cobbler, with swirls of dough reminiscent of cinnamon rolls. It's even more delicious when enjoyed with some vanilla ice cream.

Preparation
Step 1
Without boiling, dissolve 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water in a saucepan, set aside.
Mix flour and shortening together with a pastry blender. Add milk and mix with fork. Roll out onto a floured surface until it is roughly a 13x9-inch oval or rectangle.
Melt 1 stick of butter and use it to coat the bottom of a 13x9-inch pyrex pan, then pour the butter from the pan onto the dough and spread it out. Spread cherries onto the buttery dough (you do not have to spread them all the way to the edge). Sprinkle cinnamon onto the cherries, a little or a whole lot, whichever you prefer. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup sugar onto the cherries as well.
Roll up the dough and cut it into 12 pieces with a sharp knife.
Place the 12 rolls into the pan with the swirl facing up and pour the sugar water over the rolls.
Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes, or until tops of rolls are golden brown.
