Line a jelly-roll pan with foil or parchment paper. Set a wire rack on pan. Place bacon in a single layer on rack and bake at 400 for 20 minutes. You do not have to flip. If you put it in while the oven preheats, the gradual temperature change will render the fat more slowly and not shrink the meat as much.
