Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. icing sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 1/2 t. cream of tartar
  • 1/4-1/2 t. nutmeg
  • 1/8 t. salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. In mixer bowl, cream butter and sugars.

2. Beat in egg and vanilla; mix well.

3. Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, nutmeg and salt.

4. Add to creamed mixture gradually and mix well.

5. Refriferate 1 hour.

6. Roll into 3/4" balls, place 2" apart on greased baking sheets.

7. Flatten cookies with glass dipped in sugar.

8. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes, or lightly browned.

9. Cool on wire racks.
