Five Flavor Cake

This is a very moist, flavorful cake using 5 different compatible extract flavorings. If desired, You can substitute the flavorings that your family enjoys for those listed.

Ingredients

  • GLAZE:
  • 2 sticks oleo - softened
  • 1/2 c vegetable shortening
  • 3 c sugar
  • 5 eggs - well beaten until lemon colored
  • 3 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 tsp Coconut extract
  • 1 tsp Rum extract
  • 1 tsp Butter extract
  • 1 tsp Lemon extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 10 " tube pan
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1 tsp Coconut extract
  • 1 tsp Rum extract
  • 1 tsp Butter extract
  • 1 tsp Lemon extract
  • 1 tsp Almond extract

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add beaten eggs
Combine flour and baking powder and add to creamed mixture alternating with milk.
Stir in flavorings.

Spoon mixture into greased 10" tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1-1/2 hour or until cake tests done.

While cake is baking mix up the glaze.
Combine all glaze ingredients in heavy sauce pan. Bring to boil and stir until sugar is melted.
Right after you remove the cake from the oven (while still hot), Pour glaze over the hot cake in pan.
Let set in pan until cake is cool.
