Ingredients
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. oatmeal
- 6 T. butter
- 1/2 t. cinnamon
- 1/4 t. baking powder
- 1/8 t. salt
- 1/4 c. finely chopped walnuts
- 6 medium cooking apples
- 3-6 T. sugar
- 3/4 t. cinnamon
- 2 T. lemon juice

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. With a pastry cutter or 2 knives, blend flour, brown sugar, oatmeal,baking powder, salt, first amount of cinnamon and butter until crumbly.
3. Add walnuts and cut in briefly; set aside.
4. Peel, core and slice apples.
5. Mix together the 3-6 T. sugar and 3/4 t. cinnamon.
6. Pour sugar mixture over apples and toss.
7. Arrange apples in buttered 9"x13" baking dish.
8. Sprinkle lemon juice over apples.
9. Distribute crumb topping over apples.
10. Bake 45 minutes.
11. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
