BEER BREAD (Debbie Booth)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar in the raw (Safeway - in a brown box)
  • 4 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 12 oz bottle of beer (not light)
  • 1 tsp butter

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all dry ingredients together in bowl. Add the beer.

Pour into a greased (spray Pam) loaf pan. 'Dot' with butter before baking.

Bake at 350F for approximately 1 hour - check with a toothpick.

Cool about 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

Stores well, freezes well, and is yummy as toast in the morning.
