Wilted Lettuce Salad

Ingredients

• 1 1 to head very cold iceberg lettuce, washed, dried and torn coarsely into pieces. Mom used to soak her lettuce in ice water and then drain it in a colander and pat it dry with a paper towel.
• 1/2 1/2 1/2-inch pound bacon, fried and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
• 1 1 1 medium finely chopped onion
• to and pepper to taste
