Ingredients
- Cookies:
- 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 sticks butter, room temperature
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 egg
- 4 ounces milk chocolate, finely chopped
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Topping:
- 3 ounces milk chocolate, finely chopped
- 3 ounces white chocolate, finely chopped
Preparation
Step 1
Cookies:
1. In medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
2. In large bowl, with electric mixer on medium, beat butter and sugar until creamy, about 2 minutes.
3. Beat in egg, chocolate and vanilla on low.
4. Gradually beat in flour mixture until blended.
5. Divide dough in half.
6. Shape each half into a roll measuring about 1-1/2" in diameter.
7. Wrap rolls in wax paper and freeze until very firm; about 4 hours.
8. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
9. Line two baking sheets with foil; coat with cooking spray.
10. Cut dough into 1/4" slices and arrange on cookie sheets.
11. Bake cookies 10 to 11 minutes.
12. Cool on sheets 1 minute.
13. Transfer to wire rack and cool completely.
Topping:
14. Place each type of chocolate in a reseable bag.
15. Microwave on high 1 minute or until chocolate is very soft.
16. Knead until smooth.
17. Snip off corner and drizzle over cookies.
