Make the Syrup
In a small saucepan, over medium heat, combine the water and sugar. After 5 minutes, add the rum. Turn down the flame to low and simmer until the sauce thickens.

Prepare the Bananas
While waiting for the sauce to cook, wash and dry the bananas. Cut off the ends then slice them lengthwise with the skin on.

Grill the Bananas
On a griddle or grill, over medium heat, grill the bananas with the fruit part down. When the grill lines appear, turn to cook the other side with the skin part.

Sprinkle on the Cinnamon
Sprinkle the cinnamon powder on the bananas.

Drizzle bananas with the rum syrup.
