Classic Meatballs

Ingredients

  • MEATBALLS:
  • 2 pounds ground meat
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp. ketchup
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • dssh of black pepper
  • 1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
  • SAUCE:
  • 15 oz. tomato sauce
  • 15 oz. tomato puree
  • 15 oz. water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. basil(opt.)
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano(opt.)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine all sauce ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
2. Combine all meatball ingredients and add to sauce.
3. Lower flame to a slow simmer.
4. Simmer for 1 hour.
5. May use 2 cans tomato sauce just add more sugar, because tomato sauce spicier then puree.
