Ingredients
- 2 cups bisquick biscuit mix
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp poultry seasoning
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- pinch of sage
- seasoning salt to taste
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp corn starch
- 1/2 cup cold water
Preparation
Step 1
1. To make chicken brother, boil a chicken in a crock pot or on the stove top with about 2 quarts of water. Once done, remove chicken meat and reserve 1- 1 1/2 qts of broth for dumplings.
2. In a large mixing bowl, bisquick, milk, egg, poultry seasoning, onion powder, pepper, sage and seasoned salt.
3. Strain broth and bring to a boil on stove top. Spoon in tablespoon-sized portions of dumpling dough, one at a time. Cover with lid and lower heat to a simmer.
4. Once broth has reached a simmer, remove lid. Stir in a separate bowl flour, corn starch and cold water. Add to the simmering mixture and stir to thicken.
