I followed your instructions for making the bread pudding, and it was really good. A little too sweet though. Next time I'll cut the granulated sugar to 1 1/2 cups. This was my very first bread pudding. I was a little afraid at first because I've never done anything like this before. This gave me courage to try more of your recipes. Thank you.
I had this bread pudding at the Horshoe casino in Elizabeth IN. It is the best bread pudding I have ever tasted.
We loved your bread pudding !!!!!
Try using challah which is Jewish egg bread similar to brioche instead of Italian bread for this recipe. More better!!!
Dear Paula, I made your bread pudding today....and it was a huge success. Thank you so much for your wonderful recipes.
Dear Paula, I had the opportunity to taste your Bread Pudding recipe at my daughter's home. It was the best bread pudding, I ever tasted in my life. I had to have the recipe immediately, when I was told it was your recipe. I knew it, girl you can cook your behind off
This bread pudding was great!!!!!!!!!!! I added some of my own touches to it - two whole Granny Smith apples, 2/3 cups raisins, 1/4 tsp of ground cinammon, and 1/8 tsp of salt. This bread pudding was a hit at Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks!
My cousin gave me your recipe for the bread pudding and I'm hooked like a fish! I make it twice a month and it's gone in a blink of an eye! Thank you!!
I have been making bread pudding for over 30 years and decided to try a new recipe. You recipe was the easiest to make and had my mouth watering to make more. I did not use the brandy topping because the bread pudding had enough flavor to stand on its own and it did not need anything else. It is rich and moist.
Paula, I have made this from your show after I saw you do and it is wonderful... It is so good that I have not been able to make the sauce because the pudding is gone before I can make it. People eat it right out of the oven. An 18 year old neighbor told me that it tasted like hot ice cream. Thanks for the recipe and for your great program.
This was so good! Only thing is I left out 1 cup of sugar in the mixture, used 3/4 cup brown sugar with the butter for the topping, and 3/4 cup brown sugar for the sauce and it was PLENTY sweet. My husband actually said it was still too sweet, so next time I'll use even less sugar. It was wonderful hot and also cold the next day.
Toothachingly sweet. Neither my husband nor I could could eat more than a bite because it was sooo sugary. If I make it again I will cut the the sugar in half for the pudding, the topping and the sauce. I'd also cut the vanilla to 1/2 - 1 tsp. I love Paula Dean but will take under advisement future sugar requirements.
I was craving Bread Pudding and turned to Paula Deen to find the best recipe. It is fabulous! Easy to make and melts in your mouth. Everyone loved it!
Tried this recipe and I just loved it. Made it for a family reunion and I didn't make enough because it was gone in a flash. Everyone wanted the recipe and I told to go to our website and find it. Have tried several other recipes and have yet to be disappointed! Thank you
