Roll-out Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Butter or Margarine (or use shortening + increase salt to 1 tsp)
  • 1 1/2 Cups sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tarter
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter. Add sugar gradually, creaming until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Sift dry ingredients. Add gradually to creamed mixture. Chill thoroughly (3-4 hours). Roll on well-floured surface. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet - 375, 6-8 minutes.
